Advanced Materials and Internal Architecture

Zero-Porosity Fabric – Long-Term Performance and Stability

At the heart of the Kraken’s build is Zero-Porosity (ZP) fabric. ZP is the industry’s gold standard when it comes to performance retention over time. This coated nylon material maintains its air-holding ability even after hundreds of jumps, ensuring consistent pressurization, openings, and flight behavior across its lifespan.

ZP’s advantages in the Kraken include:

• Preserved Glide and Flare even after extensive wear

• Minimal Stretching, keeping lines and flight characteristics true

• Consistent Pack Volume, helping with container fit and deployment sequence

For those prioritizing reduced pack volume and lower weight, JYRO offers PN-9 lightweight fabric options. Though thinner, PN-9 still meets the rigors of frequent wingsuit skydives and has been tested in various temperature and humidity ranges.

---

Reinforced Structural Zones

To handle the unique stresses of wingsuit openings—particularly after long deployments—Kraken integrates reinforced loading zones. These include:

• Leading Edge Reinforcements: Ensures shape integrity at high-speed inflations

• Tail Panel Bracing: Helps dampen surges and prevents tail distortion

• Internal Rib Taping: Maintains canopy structure without adding unnecessary weight

These refinements not only prolong the canopy’s lifespan but also help retain performance across jumps, conditions, and locations.JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy Line Configuration and Suspension Layout

Spectra Line Set – Strong, Low-Drag, and Long-Lasting

The Kraken comes with a 500lb Spectra cascaded line set as standard. This setup is chosen for its:

• Low drag characteristics – improving glide and canopy speed

• Minimal shrink/stretch behavior – maintains trim and geometry

• Light handling feel – more responsive flight, especially under rear risers

With color-coded brake lines and marked cascade points, packing and line maintenance become easier, especially after intense wingsuit tracking where gear assessment must be swift and efficient.

Optional configurations (like Dacron or Vectran) may be requested for custom applications, particularly for jumpers prioritizing ultra-low bulk or specific flight characteristics.

---

Internal Crossbracing and Shaping Decisions

Despite being non-crossbraced, Kraken’s internal shaping mimics the benefits of advanced crossbracing through:

• 3D Shaping at Key Load Points: Boosts internal pressurization

• Reinforced Internal Ribs: Create even air distribution across the canopy

• Zoning of Fabric Panels: Designed to flex appropriately under load without ballooning or fluttering

This results in a wing that breathes with you during flight—dampening turbulence, allowing agile riser turns, and maintaining clean forward motion through the descent arc.JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

---

JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy Custom Fit & Tuning Compatibility

Deep Brake Settings for Wingsuiters

Standard brake settings often fall short for large-surface wingsuits. Kraken includes dual brake settings:

• Standard (Shallow) Setting – for non-wingsuit or small surface area suits

• Deep Brake Setting – slows down opening sequence and improves heading control during deployment from large wingsuits

This flexibility allows pilots to tune the canopy based on the type of wingsuit, jump profile, or desired deployment behavior.

---

JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy Slider and Deployment Options

Depending on how and where you jump, Kraken supports both:

• Removable Sliders – for ultra-clean deployment when preferred

Innovative Design of the JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

Created with Purpose – Engineered from the Ground Up

Unlike many canopies that have been retrofitted to suit wingsuit flying, the JYRO Kraken was designed specifically for wingsuiting from the very beginning. Every design decision was made to enhance deployment consistency, reduce malfunctions, and increase post-deployment control—no compromises, no shortcuts.JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy Rather than modify a general-purpose canopy, JYRO started fresh. They collaborated with expert wingsuit pilots and aerodynamic engineers to ensure the Kraken addressed the three core design challenges of wingsuit skydiving:

• Preventing hard or off-heading openings

• Minimizing line twists and malfunctions

• Enhancing control and landing precision

7-Cell Architecture – Stability Meets Predictability

The Kraken features a 7-cell, zero-porosity (ZP) layout—a configuration known for delivering stable flight characteristics, especially in wingsuit conditions. With fewer cells, airflow across the canopy is more predictable, which results in greater deployment consistency and increased resistance to deformation during opening.

This design also reduces pack volume and simplifies packing technique, especially useful after long tracking dives or heavy wingsuit jumps when fatigue can affect packing quality.JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

Specialized Airfoil & Tailoring

JYRO’s proprietary airfoil profile ensures optimal pressurization without creating too much internal force during deployment. Consequently, the canopy inflates gradually and evenly, absorbing air at a controlled rate. That deliberate inflation prevents hard openings and significantly reduces stress on the pilot.JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

Key shaping enhancements include:

• Tail Tension Sculpting: Reinforces canopy stability during deployment and recovery.

• Optimized Leading Edge: Encourages smoother airflow from wingsuit wake to canopy.

• Wide Tail Spacing: Significantly decreases the likelihood of line twists and improves riser control.

Slider Design and Deployment System

The Kraken includes both collapsible and removable slider options, giving skydivers flexibility based on container setup and jump type. These options are integrated seamlessly with the canopy’s geometry and brake settings, helping it deploy without drama even after extreme tracks or fast-wingload exits.

To further tailor performance, pilots can configure two brake settings:

• Standard Brake Setting for general jumps

• Deep Brake Setting for wingsuit deployment optimization

Materials That Match the Mission

Durability and lightweight performance go hand-in-hand with the Kraken. The canopy is constructed from premium zero-porosity (ZP) fabric, which provides excellent longevity, UV resistance, and air retention. For pilots seeking reduced bulk, PN-9 fabric options are available, offering even more compactness without sacrificing reliability.JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

Whether you’re flying over unfamiliar drop zones, deploying at variable airspeeds, or pushing boundaries in long-distance terrain flights, Kraken has you covered—literally and aerodynamically.

---

1. Ultra-Reliable Openings: Minimized Malfunctions, Maximized Comfort

Predictable, On-Heading Deployments

When it comes to deployment safety, nothing matters more than a soft, on-heading opening—and Kraken delivers exactly that. The canopy’s airfoil profile and tail geometry are optimized to interact smoothly with the burble and wake created by a wingsuit, reducing the chance of:

• Hard openings

• Off-heading turns

• Unwanted surges or snatches

• Canopy distortion during inflation

This gentle deployment gives the pilot valuable seconds to regain situational awareness, adjust body position, and begin navigation.

JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy Line Twist Mitigation

Line twists remain one of the most hazardous post-deployment issues in wingsuit skydiving. Kraken’s wide tail spacing, reinforced internal shaping, and pressure-balanced openings actively reduce the likelihood of line twists forming in the first place.

Should line twists occur, Kraken’s stable profile and yaw-resistance give pilots more time to assess, correct, and recover. The canopy’s shape resists diving or spiraling—making twists easier to clear and far less dangerous.JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

2. Consistent Flight Behavior in All Conditions

Stable in Active Air and Turbulence

Even under imperfect conditions—strong thermals, variable upper winds, or turbulent terrain—Kraken maintains reliable, controlled flight. Its:

• Rigid nose shaping

• Balanced spanwise tension

• Moderate aspect ratio

…ensure that the canopy resists collapse and retains directional authority. You’re not fighting the canopy; it’s flying with you.

Responsive, But Not Overly Aggressive

Aggressive canopies may feel exciting, but they can also increase pilot workload and elevate the risk of mishandled inputs—especially under fatigue. Kraken balances responsiveness with damping. Pilots retain full control through toggles and rear risers, but without jittery or twitchy reactions. Every control input is met with a smooth, proportional response—critical in high-stakes terrain flights or low-visibility situations.

---

3. Flare Power that Prevents Landing Injuries

Progressive, Strong, and Reliable Flare Arc

Poor flare response is a primary factor in landing-related injuries. Kraken has a generously progressive flare arc, meaning:

• You feel when it’s time to start your flare

• Power builds gradually and controllably

• The final stage of the flare provides true lift, not just drag

This translates to soft, consistent landings—even when you’re heavy, tired, or landing off-DZ. Pilots of all skill levels report high confidence in Kraken’s ability to convert forward speed into lift, reducing the risk of hard touchdowns or sliding landings.

---

4. Intelligent Brake Settings for Safer Configurations

Dual Brake Settings for Deployment Safety

Kraken includes two built-in brake settings:

• Standard Brake Setting for traditional freefall or light wingsuit use

• Deep Brake Setting for high-surface-area wingsuits

When used properly, the deep setting improves stability during deployment, lowers airspeed more rapidly, and prevents premature canopy inflation—minimizing line twists and off-heading openings.

This gives wingsuiters the choice to configure the canopy specifically to their suit size, body weight, and jump profile—dramatically enhancing deployment safety without sacrificing performance.JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy

---

5. JYRO Kraken Skydiving Canopy Material Durability and Visual Integrity

Built to Withstand the Environment

The canopy’s Zero-Porosity (ZP) fabric not only retains flight characteristics over hundreds of jumps but also:

• Resists UV degradation

• Reduces the chance of stress-induced tearing

• Maintains consistent porosity for even pressurization

This structural integrity ensures that safety isn’t compromised over time—a critical concern for jumpers with high jump numbers or remote expedition plans.

Color Contrast for Visual Tracking

Kraken is available in high-visibility color options, aiding visual canopy checks post-deployment and making it easier for jumpmasters, wingsuit teams, or videographers to locate you in group formations.

---

6. Forgiving Wingloading Options to Match Skill Level

Because Kraken is available in sizes from 119 to 209, skydivers can select a wingloading that supports their personal comfort and safety. Lower wingloadings promote:
